CDC Says Homebirths on the Rise in the US
This is no surprise to me! Homebirth is an evidence-based safe choice and is (finally) getting recognition of this in the mainstream media, with more coverage than ever.
In my own community, I’ve heard informal figures cited that around 15% of all births are planned homebirths with professional midwives. Homebirth is normal in these parts! This, juxtaposed with an almost 50% c-section rate at our local hospital. With figures like that, home may be the only place women can have a safe, low-interventive natural birth!
